![]() ![]() They don’t have to pay a dime to do this. They will play through the story line or partially through it then move on. The vast majority of players in DI are casual and don’t care about maxing their gear. You can’t get all the best gear doing self found in D2r. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more bots than actual players in d2r. The first week of the first season of d2r, the economy collapsed quickly and high runes were everywhere because of all the bots. With D2, people could literally pay money and do nothing in the game to get the best gear. There is no way to just pay money and get it. And again to reiterate, he is literally forced to grind it. The money and the grind doesn’t even guarantee anything in DI. The guy who spent $15k so far hasn’t found a 5star gem. You can’t just buy it, you have to complete a lot of content and grind a lot of runs to get high end gear. You do realize that the trade economy in d2r and availability of high end gear/runes in the trade economy is because of bots financed by p2w right?Īnd DI p2w win literally forces you to grind. With a lot of people mentioning you can't directly buy gear, which is technically true, but is another element that has p2w mechanics snuck in. It's a small thing, the power of the gems themselves are the main power boost, but it feels like this has gone under the radar somewhat. For every hour of play you play he will on average have 1.9 legendaries for every 1 you have. Like, no, there is no place to type a credit card number to directly get legendaries, but someone with a paid character (even just 5/2s gems) will collect every type of loot at twice the speed as a free to play player. ![]() Meaning they can collect loot at twice the speed and are less bound by the loot soft caps. It is generally said that a whale can buy gems but can't buy equipment, but a full set of level 3, 5 star gems will increase magic find by nearly 100% doubling the rate at which rare, legendary or set items are dropped. ![]() I feel like a lot has been written about the power given by legendary gems while sort of glossing over the magic find element. ![]()
